Football Match

23-03-2009

For anyone living in Leicestershire who would like a laugh at my football skills then this might be your ideal Sunday afternoon. Dan Cannell has organised a charity football match between the Leicester City Legends and the Air Ambulance racers which will be held at the Hinckley Utd football ground on 29th March, kick off is at 1.30pm and entry is only £2 with all proceeds going to the Air Ambulance charity. I hope to be lining up with Aaron Zanotti, Alistair Fagan, Kenny Gilbertson, Bruce Wilson, Sam Middlemass and various other local club racers. Unfortunately we have play against the likes of Steve Walsh, Matt Elliot, Gary McAllister, Dean Thomas, Tom Naughton, Muzzy Izzet and Neil Lennon amongst others. (all legends!)

This whole thing has been arranged by Dan after he needed the Air Ambulance following an horrific accident, "This game is happening because the charity is close to my heart, my accident outside the Axe And Compass pub left me with 2 punctured lungs, 2 broken bones in my face, broken left arm/wrist/hand, shattered upper right arm, broken left leg and a pin in my hip. I have 5 pieces of metal in 3 limbs, so far we have raised over £2300 at a charity trackday and I really want to raise more!"

Raffle prizes have been donated by the Honda UK race team, the Honda Ron Haslam Race School and local motorcycle manufacture Triumph will also be supporting the event.
