Out of Steam!

Yesterday I entered the Desford 10k running race and finished in 74th place, there was around 500 entries and I was hoping for a top 50 finish but after a week of running and gym work I didn't have the legs towards the end of the race and had to slow my pace right down. After starting the race at sub 6 minute miles I was confident that I could finish in around 36 minutes but at 9kms I had to stop due to stomach cramp but walked to the line in 38 minutes. I will be back running today and then t

After months of trying to secure funding for the 2009 championship it is looking highly unlikely that I will make the grid on a competitive bike at the first round, I will continue my efforts and I hope to have some more positive news soon.

Since last year I have continued to train hard so that I will be ready to race, competing in local running races for Birstall running club, cycling and my daily trip to the Fitness by David Lloyd gym. As you can see in the galleries I married my girlfrien

The second annual Chris Jones Riders Fund dinner was held last weekend, 6th December at the National Motorcycle Museum in Birmingham. The event once again was a massive success and with various donations, plus two very large cheques, which were presented to founder Pam Jones on the evening, the event raised a staggering £50'000 for the CJ Fund.

Just over 500 guests attended the evening and once again the food was fantastic, the e

Slicks in the Wet!

I had an outing on my J&L Aprilia yesterday at Bruntingthorpe and it was cold, damp and windy, I left the slick tyres in hoping that it would dry but the grip just dropped with the temperature. Still, top training for the good old British weather!

For the last few weeks there hasn't been anything to report and at this stage 2009 still isn't finalised so I can't give you any more information. As usual I have been working hard to put a good deal together and keeping on top of my training, J&L Aprilia supermoto has been out, a little bit of MotoX, daily cycle rides and my daily session at the Leicester David Lloyd health club.
Charity calender

Earlier in the week I took part in a photo shoot at Phunky Fotos in Nottingham for Heart FM DJ, Amy Voce. When she discovered that her Dad had been diagnosed with advanced terminal prostate cancer, her family was left to face the heartbreaking reality that he had been given only two years left to live.

Two and a half years later, he's still fighting and hopefully will be for many years to come. So, Amy decided to do her bit to raise awareness of a disease which is one of the most common canc

On Monday I took my J&L Aprilia for some off-road training, along with Chris Hayes the CEO of Teknic and Dominic Clifford the UK manager who both showed me the way and proved that road tyres are not the best way to race through the woods! Good crack and only 1 crash.

Motard Mania!

What a long weekend! On Friday I spent a few hours at Bruntingthorpe proving ground on my J&L Aprilia for some last minute preparation before my first Aprilia Challenge race at Sportcity, also testing out the latest helmet and goggles from FOX. Saturday was a really long day, it started at 4.30am and my last race was at 7pm but it was well worth the effort, I had 4 races and my goal was to break the top ten and in the final race I was running 9th until a small crash in the off road section dro
